Ghana and Former AC Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari is in the news again for the wrong reasons after slapping a referee at the Kotobabi Wembley Park.

It is alleged that Muntari could not control his anger in a friendly match involving Sulley Muntari XI vs Laryea Kingston XI at the Kotobabi Wembley in Accra.

The referee at the receiving end is John Terry and he narrated the incident to Peace FM.

"It been a week, where Laryea XI and Muntari XI decided to engage in a small football match, and I was the referee, there was a small infringement which I missed and decided to make it a fair play for Muntari XI.

"Sulley then grabbed the ball and I gave him a yellow card, he walked straight to me with displeasure and slapped me twice.

"I then showed him a red card and he took the ball and kicked it out of the field of play".

“When that happened, players of both sides talked to me not to retaliate and forget . . . Laryea Kingston spoke to me to let things go and at that moment I let go.”

Sulley's actions ended the game prematurely. Muntari is quite known to be a temperamental person and often gets out of control on the pitch.
