Joachim Low, former head coach of the Germany national football team, has dismissed growing speculation linking him to the vacant Black Stars managerial position.
Despite widespread reports suggesting that the 66-year-old was close to signing a short-term deal to lead Ghana during the upcoming FIFA World Cup, Low has firmly denied any official talks with the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
In an exclusive interview with Sky Sport, Low clarified that he has not been approached by anyone from the Ghanaian football hierarchy. “With me, officially no one from Ghana has spoken,” he said, putting an end to the swirling rumors.
The speculation began after reports indicated that the GFA was considering Low as a potential short-term solution for the Black Stars, with a focus on guiding the team through the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scheduled to take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. However, Low’s firm denial casts significant doubt on any imminent appointment, leaving the GFA to continue its search for a new head coach.
Low, who led Germany to victory in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, has remained out of coaching since stepping down as Germany’s head coach in 2021.
