Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has been given the green light to continue as head coach of the club following an emergency meeting organised by the life patron of the club, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The meeting, which came off at the Manhyia Palace on Thursday April 18, 2024, brought together key figures such as players, technical staff, and the Interim Management Committee (IMC). The primary goal of the meeting was to talk about some pressing issues within the club, with the main discussion centering on the team’s poor outing in the Ghana Premier League, where they’ve failed to win a game in their last seven games.

The Kumasi-based club has been a topic of discussion within the media as a result of their poor outing in the league, where they’ve won one game in their last seven matches and are currently sitting in the 11th position with 33 points.

To compound the club’s predicaments, a section of supporters stormed the team’s training grounds at Adako Jachie to halt the team’s training session, as well as calling for the resignation of coach Ogum and his backroom staff.

The Porcupine Warriors will look to bounce back to winning ways this weekend as they’re set to host League leaders Samartex 1996 in a GPL Week 27 fixture at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi this coming Sunday,April 21, 2024.
