Ghana Black Stars defender Rashid Sumaila has officially joined Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade on loan on Thursday 28, June 2018 after having his medicals in a hospital in Belgrade.

Rashid Sumaila, who signed from Kuwaiti giants Al Qadsiya is set to fill the void left by fellow Ghanaian Abraham Akwasi Frimpong who moved to Hungarian elite side Ferencvarosi.

The Ghanaian will be the first foreign player to be courted by the Serbian giants in this summer transfer window after they closely monitored his performances.

Red Star will have the first option of buying the player on a permanent contract if he impresses in his first season with the former European champions.

"I am delighted to have signed the deal to play for one of the highly respected sides in Europe,"Rashid Sumaila told Ghanasoccernet.com exclusively.

Rashid Sumaila, the black stars defender, will have the opportunity to taste his first champions league football with his new club. He played last season in Qatar with Al Garafa also on loan.
