Erstwhile Asante Kotoko forward, Eric Bekoe believes songne Yacouba will be better as an auxiliary striker than playing as a main center-forward after 6 matches without a goal in the Confederation Cup campaign for the Reds.

On Wednesday, February 13 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Kotoko defeated Zesco United 2-1 in the 2018-19 Total CAF Confederation Cup match-day two encounter.

Yacouba registered two assists for the Porcupines but failed to connect home all chances the fell to him as his search for a goal in the Confederation Cup surges on despite his superlative performances for Kotoko in the campaign.

However, the 2008 Ghana Premier League golden boot winner with the Porcupine Warriors, Bekoe believes the Burkina Faso international lacks goal-scoring abilities but he is better when he is playing as a snare.

"Songne Yacouba has the technical abilities of Kwabena Yaro (ex-Kotoko striker). Technically, he (Yacouba) isn't a goal scorer," Eric Bekoe told Kickgh.com.

"He is not a talented goal scorer but can perfectly be used as a decoy. He needs to play with a goal scorer upfront else they (supporters) will always shout at him," he ended.
