Samson Deen gets appointment for 2023 African Games

Ministry of Youth and Sports have appointed President of African Paralympic Committee Samson Deen to serve as a member of LOC for the 2023 African Games.

Samson Deen will join the 9 other members who have been sworn into office to steer Ghana’s preparations towards a successful hosting of the 13th African Games.

The committee is chaired by an experienced sports broadcaster, Dr. Kwaku Ofosu-Asare.

Felix Romark names his Ghana Premier League 1st round Best XI

Sports analyst Felix Romark has stuck his neck out to name his 2021/22 Ghana Premier League 1st round Best XI.

A plethora of players featured in the just ended 2021/22 Ghana Premier League first round and everyone has got an opinion on who his or her best ones are.

There are surprises in the Romark's lineup, who named five Asante Kotoko players, three Bechem United players with Hearts Of Oak, King Faisal and Aduana Stars getting a spot each.

Felix Romark opted for a 4-4-2 formation, with four defenders, four midfielders, and 2 attackers.

He went for Bechem United's shot-stopper Iddrisu Abdulai as his safe pair of hands.

Richard Attah, Ibrahim Danlad will get their chance - Black Stars goalkeeper's Richard Kingson

Black Stars goalkeeper's trainer Richard Kingson has said Hearts of Oak's Richard Attah and Kotoko's Ibrahim Danlad with time will make their senior national team debut.

The two local goalkeepers over the weekend excelled and kept clean sheets in Hearts of Oak vs Kotoko Super clash which ended 0-0.

Speaking to the media on the duo heroics, Kingson noted that a Black Stars debut could be on the cards for the two keepers ahead of the Ghana-Nigeria World Cup qualifier.

Nominees for NASCO coach of the Month for January announced

Four coaches have been nominated for the NASCO Coach of the Month Award for the month of January.

November’s winner Prosper Ogum Narteh, Umar Abdul Rabi of Medeama and Kassim Mingle of Bechem United and Bismark Kobby Mensah of Karela FC are all gunning for this month’s award.

The four coaches secured impressive results throughout last month.

The winner of the award is expected to be announced on the GFA News programme on Friday February 25, 2022.

Dillian Whyte signs contract for Tyson Fury world title showdown

Dillian Whyte has finally signed the contract for his WBC world title grudge match with Tyson Fury that is set to land at Wembley Stadium on April 23.

The Body Snatcher has maintained silence since he was ordered to face the Gypsy King and delayed the completion of the official fight paperwork right up until the final hours before the deadline.

Undefeated champion Fury, who has held the belt since he pulverised Deontay Wilder in their Las Vegas rematch in February 2020, has continued to taunt his British rival - urging him to sign the contract.
