Black Maidens captain Abdulai Mukarama has been adjudged the Golden boot winner of the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women's World cup held in Uruguay.


The Northern Ladies striker scored 7 times in 4 games for the Maidens at the World Cup clinched 2 women of the match accolade.

Mukarama's superlative performance saw her win the bronze ball award despite the exit of the Black Maidens in the quarter finals of the tournament.

The Black Maidens captain has also been nominated for 2018 CAF Women's Best Player award.

The young striker’s goal-scoring prowess is of no doubt as she netted 12 goals in 4 games for Ghana in the qualifiers to the 2018 Women's World Cup.

At 16, Mukarama is the youngest nominee on the shortlist which includes big names like reigning African Footballer of the year Asisat Ohoala, one 2015 winner Gaelle Enganamouit, and South African forward Chrestinah Kgatlana.
