The Ghana Football Association (GFA) says it has taken note of statements made by the Ministry of Sports and Recreation at its press briefing on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, but will respond at a later date.
In a statement, the Association said its immediate priority is to rally national support behind the Black Stars as they prepare for two crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches. Ghana faces Chad tomorrow, Thursday, September 4, at 1 p.m., before taking on Mali on Monday, September 8, at 7 p.m.
“The Black Stars require the unflinching support of all Ghanaians as they prepare to navigate these important encounters. The unity and commitment of our supporters have always been the team’s greatest strength, and we urge the nation to keep this spirit alive,” the GFA noted.
The Association assured the public that once the match against Mali is concluded, it will issue a comprehensive response to the Ministry’s statements.
The GFA further expressed its gratitude to Ghanaians for their understanding and continued support for the Black Stars and all national teams.
