Ghana’s Black Stars moved within one point of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a commanding 5–0 victory over the Central African Republic (CAR) in Morocco.
Mohammed Salisu opened the scoring in the first half with a header from a Mohammed Kudus corner.
After the break, Ghana took full control, with Thomas Partey doubling the lead from a Jordan Ayew assist. Alexander Djiku added a third before Ayew got on the scoresheet himself to make it 4–0. Substitutes Joseph Paintsil and Kamaldeen Sulemana combined late on for the fifth goal.
The emphatic win keeps Ghana three points clear at the top of Group I, leaving Otto Addo’s men needing just one more point to seal qualification for the World Cup.
The Black Stars will take on Comoros in their final Group I fixture on Sunday.
