This year’s edition of the Ghana Shippers Awards concluded with the emergence of Sea & Shore Services Company Ltd emerging as the country’s Marine Service Provider of the year 2017.
The decision follows the GSA’s assessment of the performance of the SSSL over the past 12 months in various areas of its expertise in the maritime sector of the economy.
The Ghana Shippers awards was instituted as part efforts to recognize and promote excellence and healthy competition among the various stakeholders in the sector.
It has over the years, served as a clear basis for assessing best practices among maritime services provider in the country.
Sea & Shore Services (Ghana) Limited, was established in 2010 and currently provides over ten maritime services including crew handling, on and off-shore supply stores & provisions, supply of fresh water, salvage operations, underwater inspection and hull cleaning, among others.
In his capacity as Special Guest of Honour at the event which took place at Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, Minister for Transport – Kweku Ofori Asiamah, urged the maritime sector leaders to embrace modern technology as an effective tool to promote efficiency to meet global industry benchmarks.
CEO of the Ghana Shippers Authority and prime facilitators of the annual initiative said the agency under his leadership will continue to explore and implement best available measures to make private participation in the maritime industry more competitive.
