Ghanaian hiplife artiste, Emmanuel Kofi Botwe, known popularly as Kwaw Kesse or Abodam, has disclosed that he has toned down his cannabis smoking habits.

Speaking on the morning show on Hitz FM ‘the DaybreakHitz’, Kwaw Kese maintained that it will be a bit difficult to quit smoking cannabis, but he has reduced its intake.

The musician added that he’s now a father and a responsible husband so he has to minimise certain things he used to do when he was young.

The 'Abodam' hitmaker also mentioned that he used to be a very crazy person but now he has changed to what he termed as “beautiful madness”.

The musician confirmed that his wife has never been in support of his smoking habits but she’s okay with him.

“Love is blind, we love each other just the way we are,” he added.

When he was asked to prove that he has really toned down on smoking, he pleaded that he will say and show evidence only in a private conversation.

Kwaw Kesse took 2007 by storm with his hit album ‘Abodam’.

He won five awards at the 2008 edition of the Ghana Music Awards.

In December 2014, Kwaw Kese was arrested by the Ghana police service in Kumasi for smoking cannabis in public, which he didn't deny.

He was put to court and tried.

On April 23, 2015, he was sentenced to one day in jail after being found guilty of smoking cannabis and made to pay GH¢1200 as a fine.
