Australian High Commissioner to Ghana Andrew Barnes has expressed worry about worsening sanitation situation in Accra.

Andrew Barnes in a tweet said local authorities to take the necessary steps to help achieve President Akufo-Addo’s vision of making Accra the cleanest city in Africa.

Poor sanitation has been one of the major problems facing Ghana as a country, streets are littered with no attention to the health threat it poses to lives of the citizens.

Dumping of refuse at unauthorized places, open defecation at beaches among other unhygienic practices makes it difficult for Ghana to compete with other countries in terms of good sanitary practices.
