Disability is not an obstacle to success - DCE

Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) have been urged not to allow their conditions to be a hindrance to their vision.

They have also been advised to stay focus until their goals are achieved in life.

The Nkoranza North District Chief Executive in the Brong Ahafo Region, Gifty Akorsa Arthur gave the advice when she distributed items worth GHS70, 000.00 to over 400 members of the Federation of Disable Association in the District.

The gesture forms part of government’s policy to support persons with disabilities to earn a living in their various businesses.

The items distributed were fridges, fufu grinding machine, rubber cutter machines and welding machines.

Those who were into farming were giving cutlasses, farm inputs and financial assistance.

Madam Akorsa Arthur urged them not to let their conditions to be a hindrance to their vision and stay focus until their goals are achieved.

She said those who wish to pursue higher education should not be discouraged since there are others persons with disability who are playing effective roles in various institutions of the nation.

She added that such people are contributing to development of this nation and they can also become one of them.

Madam Arthur assured that government is committed to support them. She cautioned them not sell the items but make good use of them.

The Nkoranza North District Director of Education, Opoku Donyina urged the beneficiaries to focus on their goals.

He said they should resist temptation of feeling that they would be ridiculed in society, especially those willing to pursue higher education to tertiary levels.
