The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, is in stable condition following a road accident in the early hours of Thursday in the Oti Region.
The incident occurred at about 2:00am at Pai-Katanga as the King was returning to Accra from Tamale in the Northern Region. Sources close to the palace indicated that he had travelled to Tamale on a private visit at the invitation of the Yaa Naa.
The visit was described as cordial and significant, forming part of ongoing engagements among traditional authorities aimed at strengthening unity and reinforcing bonds of mutual respect among Ghana’s revered institutions.
However, on his return journey to Accra, the Ga Mantse’s vehicle was involved in an accident. Fortunately, the King reportedly escaped unhurt and remains in good spirits.
Sources further disclosed that while the Ga Mantse was unharmed, his driver sustained critical injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment.
Personnel from the Ghana Police Service responded swiftly after being alerted to the scene.
Although the full circumstances surrounding the accident are yet to be detailed, the atmosphere at the palace is said to be one of relief and thanksgiving as the Ga Mantse continues to recover.
