Man stabs another to death over choice of song at marriage ceremony

The Adansi Fomena Police in the Ashanti Region has arrested a middle-aged for allegedly stabbing another man to death during a marriage ceremony at Adansi Akwansrem.

According to reports, the suspect, Yaw Owusu and the victim got engaged in a fight during the ceremony last Saturday after he [Owusu] over the choice of song being played at the event.

Owusu had insisted that a particular song be stopped but his action led to a chaotic situation as some of the crowd tried to stop his misbehaviour. in the melee the suspect thrust a knife through the chest of a man by name Asare, sending him to the ground instantly.

In the commotion that followed, he stabbed the victim, only identified as Asare, on the chest with a kitchen knife.

The victim was rushed to the New Edubiase Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Confirming the incident, the Adansi Fomena District Police Commander, Superintendent Yaw Asubonteng stated that suspect had been arrested while the corpse of the had been deposited at the New Edubiase Government Hospital morgue.
