The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced that it will begin issuing Ghana Cards to children between the ages of 6 and 14 from Monday, October 6, 2025.
According to the Authority, the first phase of the exercise will be conducted across 56 districts and will cover children who have already completed the registration process. The cards will be distributed at the same schools where the registration originally took place.
Parents and guardians are required to present the registration receipt, known as Form A, which was issued during the initial registration.
The NIA assured the public that all pending Ghana Card printing backlogs have been cleared, paving the way for a seamless rollout of the child card issuance programme. It added that the remaining districts will be served in the following days.
The Authority further noted that new registration dates for children who have not yet enrolled will be announced soon.
It appealed to all parents and guardians to fully cooperate with officials to ensure a smooth and efficient exercise across the country.
