The National Service Authority (NSA) has reaffirmed its commitment to the prompt payment of outstanding allowances owed to National Service Personnel, assuring that concrete measures are underway to settle all verified arrears.

In a statement dated February 17, 2026, and signed by the Director-General, Ruth Dela Seddoh, management emphasised that allowances are vital in supporting personnel throughout their service year and stressed that every service person is entitled to timely payment of their stipends.

According to the Authority, the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) advanced funds last week to cover two months’ allowances for disbursement.

However, the NSA explained that the delay in payment is due to an ongoing verification exercise being conducted by the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited (GhiPSS). The process, it noted, must be completed to ensure accuracy and uphold financial integrity before the allowances can be released.

“Management wants to state categorically that the delay stems from an ongoing verification process by GhiPSS, which must be completed to ensure accuracy and financial integrity before payments are finally effected,” the statement said.

The Authority acknowledged the patience and resilience demonstrated by service personnel during the period, describing their contribution to national development as deeply valued and appreciated.

It assured that all verified and legitimate arrears would be cleared by the close of the week and pledged to provide regular updates through its official communication channels to keep personnel adequately informed.
