One person feared dead,3 others injured on Tema Motorway

One person is feared dead and three others injured on the Tema Motorway where a Hyundai truck with registration number GT 1547-14 ran into a group of passengers.

At about, 7: 45 am on March 18, 2019,  a group of passengers experienced this unfortunate incident whilst waiting at the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) junction along the Tema to Accra stretch of the motorway. 

The deceased, who was only identified as Ophelia is said to be a worker with Royal Crown Packaging, a subsidiary of Kasapreko Company.

Again, the deceased Ophelia is said to be a resident of Ashaiman who commutes daily to work.

According to some eyewitnesses, she was part of a number of pedestrians waiting at the Junction of (KICC) of the motorway to cross to the other side when the Hyundai truck, which was coming from Tema towards Accra allegedly had a brake failure and ran into them.

Three other pedestrians also sustained various degrees of injuries and were rushed to the Tema General Hospital.

The Police from the Airport Division later arrived at the scene to assess the situation.
