Some angry customers of Menzgold have hit the streets to protest over their monies which have been locked after the entity was ordered to stop its operations.

Menzgold has been in hot waters for the past few months after the Bank of Ghana and the Security and Exchange Commission asked them to suspend its operations as they did not have a valid license.

Since then, Menzgold have had difficulties in paying its numerous aggrieved customers the value on their gold deposits as well as their entire investments.

Last week, some customers plan to hit the streets but were told by the entity to abandon that plan.

The Minister for Finance Ken Ofori–Atta however confirmed that the government would not pay customers of Menzgold who have their monies locked up.

Some customers who spoke to PrimeNewsGhana.com said "We traveled all the way from Kumasi for this demonstration and we are not stoping"

Another said " he (Nana Appiah Mensah)  has not kept his previous promises, so we can't trust him, we are not backing out and all we want is our money, we have heard he is in bed with government, if not the government should come out clean on this".
