A nursing student,at the Gushiegu Midwifery Training School who was prevented from writing her exams with the excuse that she was pregnant will be filing a suit against the school today(Friday).
The final year student, Cecelia Awuni who was to complete her course today, was sacked by school authorities to go home and return the next academic year to complete her programme.
Speaking to Citi News, her Lawyer, Francis Sosu said the client would pursue the case though she has been recalled to complete her course.
"We are hoping that, the suit would be filed today as the matter has come to the attention of the Midwifery Council and they are making arrangements for her to write the supplementary papers but that has not be formally communicated to us. I also have instructions from my client to issue a writ for the enforcement of her right not to be discriminated against,"he stated.
The four months old pregnant student, was on Wednesday sacked from an examination hall midway through her papers for being pregnant.
