President Akufo-Addo today February 12, 2019, presented the Constitutional Instruments for the creation of the North East Region.
In a short ceremony held at the Jubilee House, the President officially presented CI 116 to the chiefs and people of the North East Region, with its capital as Nalerigu, and signed an attestation document to seal the process.
The new region is among the five other regions which were voted for at last year's referendum.
Ghana currently has 11 regions and five more will be added.

The President is expected to present another CI at 3 pm today for the creation of the Savannah Region.
