An Accra Circuit Court has sentenced two persons to 18 years each in prison for robbing a lady at the La Pleasure Beach in Accra.

Prosecuting, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ms Patience Mario, told the court that Armah and Owusu were dancers who performed at events.

She said on January 6, 2016, the victim, Gloria Adjei, and her friend were returning from the La Pleasure Beach at about 9 p.m. when Armah and Owusu pounced on them and attacked them.

“They succeeded in robbing the victim, after threatening the two ladies with a cutlass,” the prosecutor said

After the robbery, the victim shouted for help and Armah and Owusu were arrested by a security guard and other patrons at the facility after a hot chase.

The two, Daniel Armah and Bernard Owusu, pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and robbery but the court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh found them guilty after they failed to dispute the prosecution's claim that the retrieved the stolen items from them, Graphic Online reported.
