VIDEO: First batch of hajj pilgrims depart

Over five hundred (500) hajj pilgrims were on Friday night airlifted to the holiest city of Islam, Mecca, Saudi Arabia, from the Tamale International Airport.

The number was part of about 1000 pilgrims left stranded on Friday after their flight was cancelled. The Hajj board has assured the rest will be airlifted soon
