Former President John Dramani Mahama and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Flagbearers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) respectively, will be filing their nominations at the Electoral Commission (EC) today Monday, September 9 ahead of the 2024 general elections.
Bawumia will be the first to file his forms at the Electoral Commission’s headquarters, accompanied by his running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, and other party leaders.
This will be followed by a public address at the NPP’s national headquarters.
Later in the day, at 2 pm, the National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia will file on John Mahama’s behalf.
In a post on his Facebook page, Mr Mahama said “My nomination forms as Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), with Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as Vice Presidential Candidate, will be formally submitted to the Electoral Commission on Monday at 2.00 pm.
“The submission of the forms by our National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, represents a pivotal step in our campaign for change on December 7. We are all in this together, working with Ghanaians to RESET Ghana’s economy and ‘Build the Ghana we want together’.”
