With barely five weeks to the December elections, primenewsghana.com brings you a list of celebrities who have openly endorsed the two main presidential candidates, incumbent President Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Nana Akufo-Addo of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
1. John Dumelo supports Mahama
I have nothing against Nana Addo, but I only see one person being sworn in come January 2017 and it’s not him (Nana),†the actor tweeted early this year. He has since been campaigning aggressively for the president.Â
2. Agya Koo supports Akufo-Addo
“ Since this [NDC] government came to power, there has been so much hardship and Ghanaians are complaining,†the Kumawood actor said in September. He has since spoken at several NPP rallies and has campaigned with Akufo-Addo in the Ashanti Region.
3. Tracey Boakye supports Mahama
The Kumawood actress has been a staunch supporter of the president in the Ashanti Region. She has spoken at several campaign events for the NDC.
4. Bibi Bright is for Akufo-Addo
The actress has endorsed Akufo-Addo and has urged her supporters to vote for him in December. "I am for Nana," she stated on Instagram in September.
5. Mzbel is for Mahama
The singer is one of the president's most vocal celebrity supporters. She has released at least two campaign songs for him ahead of the polls.
6. Wisa supports Akufo-Addo
"I am very confident that Nana Akufo Addo will take over the presidency come 7th November. So let’s all support him,†he said as he endorsed Akufo-Addo.
7. Bukom Banku is for Mahama
The boxer has been very active in campaigning for the president ahead of the poll. He has also been a harsh critic of Akufo-Addo.
8. Daddy Lumba supports Akufo-Addo
The highlife legend has collaborated with Kwabena Kwabena to release a campaign song for Akufo-Addo.
9. Afia Schwarzenegger supports John Mahama
She has been very vocal and unrelenting about her support for Mahama. She is among his most popular celebrity supporters.
10. Praye supports Akufo-Addo
The hiplife group have endorsed Akufo-Addo and released a song to support his campaign.
11. James Gardner supports Mahama
The actor supports Mahama and has been seen stumping for him on NDC campaign platforms.
12. Socrates Safo
The movie director has been actively canvassing for votes for Akufo-Addo.
13. Mr Beautiful is for Mahama
The actor has supported Mahama since the 2012 elections. He has been actively involved in the 2016 campaign.
14. Vivian Jill is for Akufo-Addo

He has been very active on the campaign trail for NDC.
18. Mark Okraku Mantey supports Akufo-Addo

She is one of the president's most popular celebrity supporters and is deeply involved the the NDC's relection campaign.
