Controversial hip-life musician Kwame Asare Obeng popularly referred to as A-Plus insists that he has not been paid by any political party to campaign for them ahead of the December 7 elections.
Speaking at the sidelines of a program held in Accra, he said, “I have not been bribed by any political party to speak for them but I only say what I see on the grounds, whether good or bad regardless of which party is in power.â€
He added that, “we are in this country and aware of whatever is going on. It is obvious things are not going on well under the current government.â€
That he said, is not to say that he would not receive any money from someone for a job done whether campaigning or whatsoever.
“Everyone deserves to be paid for their work and if I do something for someone, I must be paid. Nobody has paid me yet though,†he stated.
However, he said the country needs a change in government in order to develop to an appreciable level, going forward.
“I am taking a front role in seeking for change as it is proper to change government after every eight year,†he said.
Specifically, he stressed that, “I am seeking for a change so that the National Patriotic Party and Nana Akufo Addo would come into power after the December elections.â€
He also called on Ghanaians to vote for a change in government so that the country would become better under a new leadership.
