The front bench of the Majority Caucus in Parliament has donated their March salaries to the Ghana Sports Fund in a show of support for sports development in the country.
The gesture comes after the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams, announced that he would contribute two months of his salary to the Fund starting February 2026.
The Minister announced on the floor of Parliament while delivering a statement on the Ghana Sports Fund. He also revealed that the National Investment Bank had donated GH¢100,000 to the initiative, describing the contribution as a strong demonstration of corporate support.
According to him, the Ghana Sports Fund has been structured to ensure transparency and accountability. The Fund is expected to support infrastructure development, promote school and grassroots sports, prepare elite athletes, strengthen welfare systems, and enhance recreational activities across the country.
Other Members of Parliament also made donations to support the Fund.
