MP aspirants to be vetted by EC in districts swiftly- Dzakpasu

The Electoral Commission (EC) has charged its officers at the district level to vet parliamentary candidates and present a report to the regional heads for onward transmission to the headquarters in Accra.

Director of Communications at the Commission, Eric Dzakpasu noted every constituency has returning officers who will receive the nomination papers and make a determination if the aspirant passed the vetting bearing in mind the EC’s regulation.

“It won’t take too long, the process has started,” he said in answer to worries the vetting at the district level might take time.
