The National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) says a total of 50 nomination forms have been purchased for the party’s 2026 National Officers Elections.

The Committee said the nomination period closed on Saturday, August 22, 2026, and described the exercise as successful and peaceful.

In a statement issued on Saturday, August 22, the NOEC said the 50 nomination forms were purchased across the nine national officer positions being contested.

The Committee said the close of nominations marks the commencement of the filing of completed nomination forms by aspirants.

This follows an earlier decision by the NOEC to extend the filing period by two days to Saturday, August 29, 2026.

The extension was intended to provide aspirants with adequate time to complete and submit their nomination documents for verification.

The Committee said the vetting of aspirants would commence on Monday, August 31, 2026, and run until September 3.

The results of the vetting are expected to be published on September 5, followed by the appeals process from September 6 to 7.

The National Council and National Executive Committee are scheduled to meet on September 10, while the notice of poll will be issued on September 14.

The election of the party’s national officers is scheduled for October 3, 2026.

The NOEC reaffirmed its commitment to conducting the elections in a fair, transparent, orderly and credible manner, while ensuring equal opportunity for all aspirants.
