The 2018 Women's Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON to be held in Ghana has been launched in Accra.

The tournament which will be hosted by Ghana was launch at a short ceremony held in Accra on Friday, March 23, 2018.

The event was attended by members of the Local Organising Committee, Minister for Youth and Sports and other government officials, CAF officials, former footballers, with CAF women’s football ambassador and the wife of Liberian President, Clar Weah also present.

Sports Minister Isaac disclosed that the government has released an amount of $8 million to the Local Organizing Committee for the tournament.

The Accra Sports Stadium and the Cape Coast Stadium will be the two venues to host the tournament in November.

The Achimota school park and the El-wak stadium have been earmarked as training venues for teams in Accra while the Ndoum stadium and the Robert Mensah stadium will serve as training venues for teams based in Cape Coast.
