Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif this week toured the hosting facilities for the 2023 Africa Games currently under construction at Legon and Borteyman.

During his tour, he received and reviewed monthly reports on the progress of work by the contractors.

At Borteyman, Mustapha Ussif asked the contractor to increase his machinery and workforce to complete the facilities ahead of schedule.

"What are we going to see, you said we will see concrete work on that particular one per our next visit, my suggestion or appeal to you is that you need to increase your workforce and machinery so that concurrently the four foundations would be worked on, the Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif said.

I am very excited today but I would have been more excited if I have seen that all four areas are being worked upon."

Meanwhile, Mustapha Ussif has sworn in seven Sub-Committees to serve on various committees for the 2023 African Games.

According to the Sports Minister, the 2023 African Games will bring to Ghana a total of fifty-five African nations, as well as about 8,000 athletes, technical officials and journalists.

The Sub Committees have been put in place to perform functions that will lead to the successful hosting and organization of one of the best Games organized on the continent.

The 13th edition of the Africa Games, formerly known as the All African Games would involve 54 participating countries and 25 sporting disciplines.

The African Games is a multi-sport event held every four years with the competing nations coming from the African continent.

The 2023 African Games will also serve as qualifiers for the various disciplines for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.
