Bankroller of New Edubiase, Abdul Salam Yakubu has affirmed his decision not to participate in the Normalization Committee's special competition slated for February 3.

The competition is expected to revive football in the country after a documentary by Anas Aremeyaw Anas exposed bad practices by officials of the game.

Speaking on Asempa FM, he disclosed that, New Edubiase will not be part of the special competition and he, however, questioned the Normalization Committee interest in organizing the said competition.

He further added that it is not the prerogative of the NC to truncate the league but the sole decision lies with the club owners which should have been taken at congress.

"I'm not aware of any competition, as I said earlier I won't participate in any competition apart from the FA CUP and the league". Though only Congress can halt the league, I'm not interested in any competition now. I need to be shown some respect", said Abdul Salam Yakubu.

"What is the Normalization Committee's interest in organizing this Special Competition". There is no unity among the football people, which is unfortunate".

Chairman of the Normalization Committee, Dr Kofi Amoah in an interview on Asempa Fm last week said "If we(Normalization Committee) had continued with the league there will be problems, so we had to start on a clean slate"
