Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has outlined his vision for Ghana’s campaign towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup, stressing that unity, discipline, and sacrifice will be crucial to success.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on Beyond The Whistle, the experienced tactician said talent alone would not guarantee success unless players, officials, and supporters work together with one common goal.

According to Queiroz, every nation dreams of winning the World Cup, but only teams willing to endure the sacrifices required can achieve success.

“It’s easy to say, ‘I want to win the World Cup,’ just like many people want to buy a private jet,” he said. “But you have to be ready to pay the price to achieve those dreams.”

The former Portugal and Iran coach, who has managed at several FIFA World Cups, explained that detailed preparation and teamwork are essential at the highest level of football.

Queiroz disclosed that he has intensified efforts to study Ghana’s domestic football structure and assess local talent with support from the Ghana Football Association.

He revealed that a special local observation programme has already enabled him to identify some of the country’s best home-based players within a short period.

“I went deeper to know some of the local players,” he noted. “We put this programme in place so I could see the best players and understand local football much faster.”

The Black Stars coach also emphasized that no player would be allowed to place personal interests above the national team.

“Nobody will be above the team,” he declared. “Everybody must play with only one thing in mind — Ghana, the pride of the nation and the happiness of the people.”

Queiroz believes rebuilding trust and unity within the team will be vital as Ghana prepares for the tournament, which will be co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

He further highlighted the importance of modern football preparation, including fitness, nutrition, physiotherapy, tactical organization, and set-piece training as part of his rebuilding plans for the Black Stars.
