Ghana’s swimming hopeful Kaya Forson clocked a personal best of 2:16.02 to place third in heat 1 of the Women's 200m Freestyle at the Olympic Aquatics stadium at the Rio Olympic Games.

By clocking that time, Kaya was unable to progress to the next stage of the competition. The 14-year-old Canadian-born Ghanaian swimmer however bettered her personal time shaving off about a second of her old time on August 8 in the race against Fiji’s Matelita Buadromo and India’s Shivani Shivani.

The three swimmers will not however be qualifying for the next stage as they failed to meet the qualifying time.
