Manchester City were on Wednesday knocked of the UEFA Champions League after they lost 3-1 at French Ligue 1 leaders, AS Monaco.
Though the tie ended 6-6 on aggregate, with English side having won the first leg 5-3 at home, they were eliminated on the away goal rule.
City conceded early in today's game when Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe converted from close range in the eighth minute.
Fabinho scored Monaco's second to turn the tie around and put pressure on City who had to score at all costs to remain in the competition.
Leroy Sane gave them the much-needed hope by smashing home into the roof of the net after Monaco keeper, Subsacic parried a shot into his path.
But just when City thought they were in good stead, Tiemoue Bakayoko's 77th-minute bullet header ensured that his side would go through.
