Medeama SC are struggling to acquire traveling visas in what appears to be a calculated ploy by the South Africa High Commission in Ghana to frustrate the team ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup play-off tie against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

The South Africa High Commission  in Accra is reportedly refusing to issue the traveling visas to the team despite fulfilling their requirements.

Several efforts to even submit the visa forms for processing has hit a dead end, prompting the Ghana FA to report he current stand-off to the continent's governing, CAF.

It's unclear what might have led to the latest stand-off between the two outfits with the visa hitch threatening the side's crucial trip to South Africa.

However, there is widespread suspicion the move is calculated to frustrate the team ahead of the crucial tie against the current South African league leaders.

The Ghanaians are expected to travel to the country on Wednesday, but that plan could be altered.

Sundowns host the first leg tie at the Lucas Moripe stadium in Pretoria at 18:00 South African time (4pm Ghana time) on Saturday May 7.

Medeama are keen to progress to the group stage of the continent's second-rated inter-club competition after edging Al Ittihad (Libya) and Al Shendi (Sudan) over two legged-ties, GHANASoccernet reported.
