Team Ghana making a mark in Ivory Coast

Ghana's cycling team has began the LA Route de lest tour in Ivory Coast on a very bright note with two cyclists making a good impression in the first event on Saturday. 

 Anthony Boakye and Abdul Razak placed first and second in the road race which covered a distance of 46km. They also managed to finish the circuit race of 90km maintaining their positions. 

Five cycling teams from three countries including Gabon, Ghana and the host Ivory Coast are competing for the ultimate prize. 

The competition is organized by the Ivorian Cycling Federation and is aimed at promoting cycling in Ivory Coast and also to enhance competition among West Africa riders. It is a platform to help cyclists prepare for upcoming international competitions.

The first race saw 36 athletes from the three counties getting to the finish line. 

The athletes will be seeking to build their points through out the competition on order to win the ultimate, yellow Jersey which comes with a prize money of 2.2million CFA.
