USL: Solomon Asante nominated for MVP

Ghanaian winger Solomon Asante is up for Most Valuable Player Award in the first half of the United Soccer League (USL).

Asante has been terrific for his club Phoenix Rising.

He joined Phoenix Rising last year from Congolese side TP Mazembe on a free transfer.

The petite winger has made a huge impact for the side as he has six goals in the current campaign with the club now 2nd on the Western Conference of the USL standings.

Asante has been nominated alongside four others for the coveted award.

Asante is been joined by Thomas Enevoldson, Emmanuel Ledesma, Khalton Belmar and Neco Brett for the Most Valuable player of the year.

The 27-year old has been capped 17 times by the Black Stars.
