Vitoria Guimaraes midfielder Alhassan Wakaso has reportedly set a new record that sees him have the most successful tackles in a season in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
Wakaso tallied a total of 11 successful tackles in the goalless home draw with FC Porto last week (Sunday, February 3).Â
However, the Ghana international was said to have committed seven fouls on his way to achieving his record.Â
The 27-year-old has beaten Edson Farias's previous record of ten set on matchday 4 against Sporting Club.
Tied in third place at nine are Gustavo Cascardo (Vitória FC, home with Chaves), Gedson Fernandes (Benfica, visiting Nacional) and Zakarya Bergdich (Belenenses, Sporting's home).
Alhassan is the junior brother or Alaves and Black Stars midfielder, Mubarak Wakaso.
