The Deputy Minister for Finance, Thomas Nyarko Ampem, inaugurated the 5-member governing board of Ghana Goldbod Jewellery Limited on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Ministry of Finance.

The board, led by Chair Sammy Gyamfi, ESQ, includes Gertrude Emefa Donkor, Dr. Edem Cudjoe Amengor, Richard Kwamina Prah, and Adwoa Amankwaah Boateng Appiah.

Mr Ampem commended Goldbod for its contribution to Ghana’s gold value chain, noting that the company’s restructuring represents a major step toward increasing value addition in the gold industry.

“With the establishment of Goldbod Jewellery, Ghana can now count its gold, curb smuggling, and develop a strong domestic jewellery market,” he said.

He urged the new board to intensify efforts to promote Made-in-Ghana gold jewellery and enhance public confidence in locally manufactured products.
