HFC Bank (Ghana)limited has announced the change of its name to Republic Bank (Ghana) Limited.

In a statement signed by the bank's Managing Director, Anthony Jordan explained that the new name reflects the brand name of HFC Bank's parent company, Republic Financial Holdings Limited (RFHL) and reinforces the corresponding alignment.

He added that the official unveiling of the new brand will take place on Tuesday, 24th April, 2018 after the requirements for the operation of the new name including changing the signs inside and outside of branches are completed.

The decision to rebrand is because the Trinidad based parent company Republic Bank took controlling stakes in HFC Bank last year.

Mr Jordan added that the rebranding will allow the bank to take on bigger transactions and also offer an opportunity to some cheap credit to customers. Thus, the bank will resort to the Republic bank to raise 255 million cedis to meet the new minimum capital requirement.
