Eleven persons have been arrested by the Eastern Regional Police Command for possessing narcotics.
Among the suspects are two juveniles between the ages of 14 and 17. The police retrieved from the suspects, 176 wraps and two compressed parcels of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis.
The Eastern Regional Deputy Public Relations Officer, Inspector Gideon Boateng who spoke to Citi News said, the parcels of cannabis have been taken to the narcotics control board for examination.
The Regional Police Commander he said, has warned the general public that the outfit would deal with anyone caught engaging in such activities.
He added that, anyone caught would be prosecuted and asked the public to be conscious of such activities.
According to him, the juvenile offenders would be under the supervision of the police to ensure that they do not mingle with adult offenders.
The suspects he said would be arraigned before court in coming days.
