Lecturers at the Accra Technical University have suspended their strike action against management over the poor condition of facilities in the school.

Lecturers at the Accra Technical University (ATU) formerly known as Accra Polythenic last week temporarily suspended academic activities over inadequate facilities in the school.

They say basic facilities to aid teaching and learning in the school are absent making it difficult for them to have smooth academic work.

The local chairman of Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana (TUTAG) of ATU Jones Nsiamoah said after their deliberations with management they have decided to lay down their academic tools for two days for the various pressing issues in the school to be addressed.

But the local organiser of TUTAG Hassan Obiri Yeboah said after their meeting with management today, October 16, they have decided to suspend their strike action because some of the short-term demands have been met.

He said demands like faulty sockets, projectors and sanitation issues have been attended to.

Hassan Obiri Yeboah further called on lecturers and students to get back to class for serious academic work to begin as they dialogue with management to find solutions to the long-term demands.
