The Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Muntaka, has officially lifted the curfew imposed on several communities within the Gushegu District, effective immediately.

The decision was made on the advice of the National Security Council and enacted via Executive Instrument following a reported significant improvement in the security situation in the area.

Affected Communities

The lifting of the curfew applies to the following communities in the Northern Region:

- Paboni and Yidaani

- Kukpok

- Busun No. 1 and Busun No. 2

- Nagnani and Nayagile

- Donbin and Kolik

- Tinyongu and Klokpan

The removal of these restrictions is intended to restore normalcy and allow residents to resume economic and social activities.

Call for Non-Violent Resolution

In a statement released on Thursday, April 30, the government urged chiefs, elders, youth, and opinion leaders to exercise restraint.

The ministry emphasised that all stakeholders should adopt non-violent methods to resolve disputes and maintain the peace currently established in the district.
