Some land guards have killed a 52-year-old commercial driver at Opeikuma in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.

The man, identified as Yaw Alebey was said to have been stoned by the land guards and had cutlass wounds inflicted on him.

The wife of the deceased, Rosemond Alebey told Accra-based Adom FM that the land guards joined the 'trotro' bus and refused to pay the lorry fare.

She said that her husband attempted collecting the money but the land guard got offended and lynched him to death.

Meanwhile, the son of the deceased, Emmanuel Dawson has blamed the Kasoa police for his father’s death.

He said that as soon as the land guards started misbehaving, he alerted the Kasoa Police station but they did not show up.

“I was told land guards have killed my father. I visited the scene and it was true, I don’t know how the death came about but I was told he had a misunderstanding with the land guards. These wicked guys are really disturbing our peace here and we need government to act fast else we will face them boot for boot” he warned.
