Former Ghana's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK) and Northern Ireland under the John Mahama-led administration, Victor Smith, has explained that, the 2020 flagbearership slot of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is “a done deal” for former President Mahama.

He said he is ready to convince every NDC member to give his/her maximum support to the former President to become the flagbearer because this is the best opportunity for him to unseat the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.

The former NDC Parliamentary candidate for Abuakwa North Constituency in the Eastern Region made the observations in an interview with PrimeNewsGhana.

“We see a big opportunity for Mahama to continue his good work and it is a done deal for him”, he explained.

He said “I have taken it upon myself to convince my party folks that this is the best chance for the NDC to come back and I believe will be the case…the people will give him [Mahama] the mandate”.
