Residents of Nungua have hit the streets to embark on a peaceful demonstration today March 14, 2019, over land ownership with the Teshie residents.

According to the residents, a land around Dutch hotel in Nungua is been claimed by the Teshie inhabitants. The Nungua residents on authority are saying they are the legitimate owners of the land.

Residents of Nungua claim they gave the inhabitants of Teshie their present settlement and that Teshie cannot claim the land since they are the legitimate owners of the land around Dutch hotel at Nungua.

In an interview with PrimeNewsGhana, a resident George Otu said:

''Teshie inhabitants are claiming land around Dutch hotel in Nungua. The land does not belong to the Teshie area. We want our authorities to stand and claim that part of the land because the people in Nungua are the legitimate owners of the land. For the Teshie residents to know they don't own land because Nungua residents gave the Teshie residents their present settlement''.

Another resident Raphel Doku said:

''Nungua has a large territory. In fact, the situation has awakened the Nungua residents. Even the Legon area is a territory of Nungua. We are pleading on President Akufo-Addo to step in to solve this issue.''
