Krontihene of Akyem Kotoku, Obirempong Sarfo Gyamfi Kyere has pinpointed 'Agona Swedru Sakawa boys as being responsible for the deaths of minors in the Oda Municipality.
The Akim Oda police division recovered the bodies of three children who were allegedly murdered for ritual purposes. The District Police Commander Superintendent Samuel Ntoso revealed that police acting on intelligence found the bodies of children, believed to be between the ages of 9-13, in a nearby river with their necks broken.
Commenting on the deaths in an interview, the Obirempong called on the Police to be more vigilant to end the rampant killings by the 'Sakawa guys' whom he claims are using the children for ritual money.
He said the killings did not start until the arrival of 'those Agona Swedru sakawa guys" in the municipality, with the 3 children being the latest of their victims.
“The Police should be more proactive to put a halt to this activity of the perpetrators. They must be dexterous and more informational so as to prevent the spread of this act by the ‘sakawa guysâ€â€˜ the Obirempong said.
Superintendent Samuel Ntoso after the incident has assured the people in the area of the police's efforts to deal with the assures and asked them to remain calm while they work things out.
He encouraged all the areas in the municipality to set up ‘Community Watch Dogs’ to help fight internal criminals, while collaborating with the police at all times to bring such crimes under control.
