The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Agbodza, has announced new completion timelines for the Suame Interchange Project following an inspection tour of the site.
He disclosed that Phase 2 of the project, which focuses on local road improvements, is expected to be completed by October 2026.
The main 3-tier interchange structure is scheduled for completion by October 2028.

The Minister said progress on the project has been boosted by the government’s recent payment of $29.5 million in outstanding arrears to the contractor, Rango Construction Limited.
Phase 2 works include the widening of the Offinso Road into a dual carriageway over a 3.1-kilometre stretch, as well as the construction of overpasses at Anomangye, Maakro and Abusuakruwa. It also covers the development of about 15 kilometres of critical local roads to improve traffic flow during construction of the main interchange.

Mr. Agbodza reaffirmed government’s commitment to improving road infrastructure in the Ashanti Region, noting that projects such as the Accra–Kumasi Expressway, the Kumasi Outer Ring Road and upgrades to the Inner Ring Road are also progressing steadily.
