A Security Analyst Adam Bonaa has advised Power Distribution Services (PDS) Ghana to train its staff to be security conscious about locations deployed to offer electricity services.

Some PDS staff were attacked with machetes when they were deployed to Kokrobite following days of an erratic power cut to restore power. One of the electricians sustained a machete wound on the nose while the others were beaten.

Adam Bonaa adviced Ghanaians to desist from taking the law into their own hands and urged PDS to train its staff to be security conscious

''The PDS staff will have to be trained in to be security conscious for instance if going to a location which has been in darkness for a long time there are chances are that you are likely to be attacked. Ghanaians have become impatient and intolerant, we should desist from taking the law into our own hands'', Adam Bonaa stated.

In an interview with Starr news, Head of Communications at the Energy Ministry, Nana Damoah urged the police to intensify the investigation into the matter.

Nana Damoah said:'' One of the electricians almost had his nose cut off and is undergoing treatment at the hospital. We are informed the PDS has reported the matter to the Police service and we are continuing to monitor the development. This is a criminal activity, it should be condemned and dealt with. The general public should volunteer information that is relevant for an investigation into this case so that the Ghana Police will be able to speedily arrest and prosecute individuals involved in the act. We urge Ghanaians to give some form of protection to PDS staff working to bring power to them across the country''.
